Personal data of 960 participants of an online survey by Hong Kong based Chinese language consumer IT magazine Hi-Tech Weekly were exposed on the Internet, according to a statement by the publication.
The magazine's a publication of One Media Group, which also publishes Ming Pao Daily.
The magazine started an online survey on Jan 6. In the morning of Jan 7, it found that personal data of survey participants were exposed on the Web because of a system problem, said Hi-Tech Weekly, adding that the survey has already been withdrawn and personal data deleted. However, the publication doesn't explain what system problem might have caused the incident.
One Media Group said the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data is concerned about the incident and will be in touch of the firm for an investigation.
